Third MixArt Steampunk expo

JLB’s artwork will be at display on the third MixArt Steampunk Expo.
Several Steampunk genres bundled in one expo.

What is steampunk:

Steampunk is a subgenre of fantasy or speculative fiction. The term refers to the stories that occur at a time when steam power was still the primary source of power (usually the 19th century), but which also contain elements of science fiction or fantasy, such as futuristic inventions and machines, or really existing machines (such as computers). which are invented much earlier in these stories than in reality. This genre also prefers metal over plastics.

Although the term originally only concerned science fiction stories that took place in the Victorian era, steampunk is now also a standard term for many other fictional stories that took place before the First World War. The era thereafter is called “dieselpunk”.

The very first steampunk works had a historical background. Later works, however, also placed the elements of the genre in fantasy worlds that had little or no relation to a specific historical era.

Although many books and other works that can be considered part of this genre were written earlier, the term itself dates from the end of the eighties, as a variant of cyberpunk.
